~KADD~
That's it, I think I have diagnosed myself - I have KADD - Knitting Attention Deficit Disorder. Truly, I have zero attention span and can't seem to focus on one particular thing long enough to accomplish anything! I'm not ashamed to say that it is making me NUTS! I have so many WIP's/UFO's lying around here that I feel like a two year old who has been told to clean up the toy room. Those of you who have spent any time with kids will know what I mean - there is a room full of toys all over the floor and the poor child stands in the middle just looking around not knowing what to do first, so does absolutely nothing - THAT would be ME! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The two wraps I started in the spring.... One lonely baby sock :( There is also a pair of socks in progress in the car as usual, but I don't have to count those do I???????? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I figured that with the recovery time from the surgery, I would have lots of knitting time (I do) and would enjoy some down time with the kids and the dog in my yard. Well..... the weather is gorgeous, cool, dry and sunny - perfect yard weather - I have knitting, I have many, many, many books to read, I have the time and I can't tell you what I have been doing. I brought work home with me to do while recuperating and I can't concentrate long enough to get much of that accomplished either! AAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DH has been working on getting the camper ready for our vacation in a few weeks - it will be our first extended vacation in the camper and should prove to be more than interesting ;) For a family of 6 that is used to a very large house with all the amenities and a private beach (yes we have been spoiled by knowing people with a house to rent every year for the last 16 years), going into a trailer will be a wee bit of an adjustment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We brought the kids to upgrade our cell phone plan this weekend and get Matt onto a different carrier as the carrier we have has no coverage in Vermont while he is at school, so they now have their new phones and haven't put them down since they got them - quite funny actually. Well, it's funny until they start snapping camera-phone pictures of me whatever I happen to be doing or look like! We had some friends over last night, built a fire, roasted marshmallows and made s'mores . I had Lyss bring me to my Mom's yesterday so that I could do her hair and it nearly broke my heart to see her - so the evening was just what I needed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Beau and I are home alone this evening, as the girls have a game (I can't wait to be able to go and pick up my scorekeeping duties again or even just watch), Matt is out and Lyss is with friends, so I WILL PICK UP MY KNITTING, I WILL, I WILL, I WILL! (don't know how long it will last, but I'm going to give it a try again! lol) and hey.... I actually managed to put up a post - so maybe all isn't lost yet! |

It's tough when that ADD hits . . . knitting or otherwise. LOL You sound like you are feeling better and better though - I'm so glad to hear it. And quite a bit going on, considering you are recuperating. :)
Sometimes it's just your minds way of saying you really just need to rest and have a break. Enjoy it while you can and don't stress.

You crack me up! Since you can makeup the KADD, then I must have BADD (bloggers attention deficit disorder.
I think this happens in the summer, something you used to LOVE to do, all the sudden becomes kind of blah. Don't worry about it though. Take the knitting break you need and come back to it when you feel inspired.
I think we all have a bit of that KADD (and other varieties) from time to time. When I had ankle surgery in August, I had this same problem. Every time I woke up from my (frequent) naps, I wanted to knit/read/watch something different. When I had ankle surgery again in January, I was fully focused on learning to knit socks. Maybe it is the hot weather? I agree with Kristie, this seems to happen more in the summer.
I hope you are feeling better!
P.S. Thank you for your comment on my blog! I have spend the last 45 minutes poking around here and seeing what you have going on. You have a lovely blog - and equally lovely family and projects. I've been reminded all over again that I want to make the French Market Bag.
My stash closet proves that I have KADD. I am always finding things that I want to make or are they finding me?
Glad to hear that your healing well! I do hope that you are able to find time to knit.
Have fun on your vacation! : )
damnit that ama is me. *gr*
